Who this is for

This route is for travelers who want a calmer first Visayas week: a Cebu hub or coastal base, a protected ferry day, then Bohol time that can hold both beach and countryside without turning every day into a race.

It fits if you accept one real ferry hinge and would rather leave buffers than fill every slot. It is a weaker fit if you hate multi-leg days, need nightlife every evening, or only have enough nights for one island done well — in that case start with Bohol or Siquijor? or the First Trip hub instead of forcing two bases.

Arrival assumptions

This outline assumes you arrive into Cebu (city hub and/or a coastal base such as the Moalboal area), spend a few nights there, then take the common Cebu–Tagbilaran ferry into Bohol for Panglao beach time plus an optional countryside day.

It does not require Siquijor. Add Siquijor nights only if you still have energy after Bohol — or skip it and keep the week calm.

Route shape

Two bases in eight days feel relaxed only if the ferry day is protected and you do not stack countryside + beach tour + ferry on the same calendar day.

On Bohol, remember the jobs: Tagbilaran is the ferry/services hub; Panglao is usually a separate onward transfer for beach/dive logistics; inland countryside is often a day trip, not a mandatory third base.

Simple outline

Arrive in Cebu and settle (city or coastal base — pick one job for the first nights).
Cebu easy day: food and recovery, or a light coastal rhythm if you based outside the city.
Cebu fuller day: waterfall or marine outing or a slow day — not both stacked after a rough arrival.
Buffer / flexible day in Cebu (weather, rest, or leftover errands).

Transfer onward to Panglao if that is your Bohol base; keep the evening simple.
Bohol beach / marine day or countryside day — one major outing.
Second Bohol day (the other outing, or recovery) and depart — or continue only if energy remains.

The Cebu–Bohol ferry day

This is the hinge of the week. Door-to-door means hotel or coastal base → pier area → tickets, fees and waiting → crossing → Tagbilaran → onward to Panglao or a hub stay.

Exact operators, clocks and pesos are time-sensitive — confirm day-of.
Do not book a countryside loop or dive the same evening you sail.
Arriving “in Bohol” is not arriving at the beach.

Flights into/out of Cebu or TAG — often the largest fixed piece; dates swing hard.
Stays — city vs coastal Cebu, and Panglao vs simpler Tagbilaran rooms, change the daily burn.
Ferry day — tickets, terminal friction, local transport, tired spending.
Tours / countryside / marine days — confirm inclusions and fees with operators.

Route alternatives

One base only (Cebu or Bohol) if nights are short or ferry days drain you.
Reverse order (Bohol first) if flights or hotels make that cleaner.
Moalboal-style coastal Cebu instead of city nights — honest distance from the ferry pier; do not pretend it is next door.
Add Siquijor only with extra nights and another protected transfer — otherwise skip.
Skip stacking Chocolate Hills + marine + ferry in any 24-hour window.

Fit and trade-offs

You gain Visayas variety and a classic Cebu↔Bohol link. You give up the simplicity of one island and you accept that Cebu distances and the ferry hinge cost energy.
